Álvaro Rodríguez Dapena

Born in 1963, he is a Doctor of Higher Technical Engineering of Roads, Canals and Ports, specializing in transport, from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. Extraordinary Prize for doctoral thesis. Since December 1, 2021, he has been president of Puertos del Estado, previously he was Technical Director of Puertos del Estado, and since 1997 he has held various positions in this Organization (Director of Planning and Development, Deputy Director of External Relations, Head of Area Intermodality and Logistics, and Head of the Development and Regulatory Department).

Previously, he was in charge of transportation studies and projects at the consulting company TEMA.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of Bahía de Algeciras, Cartagena and Marín-Ría de Pontevedra, as well as Renfe Mercancías. He has also been president of the Conte Rail company between 2008 and 2013.

He is a member of multiple national and European Committees and is the author of articles and books on trade, logistics and transport.
